Yagura Sushi
33 Lavender Hill
London
SW11 5QW
Admit it. When it comes to craving sushi, nothing else will do. Now, in this busy and trendifying neighbourhood there is Yagura Sushi, bringing Eastern grace and style to an unassuming shopfront restaurant and serving culinary delights within. The exposed-brick walls and extremely simple furniture make the smart space calming and informal. The menu aims to serve authentic Japanese cuisine, and that includes more modern authenticity, too. Not only are there the usual suspects of sashimi, sushi, and rolls, as well as tempura, teriyaki, and udon noodles, there are delicious variations within the tradition. Try shrimp tempura roll, or green dragon roll, or the softshell crab tempura. There's an ice cream tempura, if you have the room. The soups are recommended and the veggie choices are good. You can even ask the chef to create a sushi concoction of your own desiring.
