The Drawing Room
103 Lavender Hill
Battersea
London
SW11 5QL
As the name hints, the Drawing Room on BatterseaÂs Lavender Hill looks like a cross between your grannyÂs front room and an antiques emporium. ThatÂs because it once was (an antiques shop, that is). Three rooms are eccentrically decorated in an atmospheric mix of candelabras, clocks, mirrors, teapots, chandeliers and cups and saucers, amongst which lie decadently shabby sofas. If thatÂs not enough to pull you in, the extensive British/European menu (including Sunday roast) is a cracker. A two courses set menu served Sunday to Thursday costs £14.95 and a set lunch menu from £9.95. Desserts are handmade, along with the afternoon tea/coffee with fresh cakes and scones. No wonder locals adore this charming, chilled-out oldy-worldy little place.
