Stratford

The biggest tourist attraction outside London, Stratford-upon-Avon is situated in the heart of the Midlands by the River Avon. Since the death of Shakespeare in 1616 the town has become a shrine to the writer and a large number of buildings in the town claim to have a connection him. The house that Shakespeare was born in has now been restored to how it would have looked in Shakespeare's time. That wouldn't be hard here though, visiting Stratrford is like taking a step back in time, a real treat.
