Spencer House
Built between 1756-66 for the first Earl Spencer (an ancestor of Diana, Princess of Wales) Spencer House is one of the best examples of an 18th century house. Recently restored to its earlier splendour under the patronage of Lord Rothschild it is now lavishly furnished with some of the most amazing 18th century paintings and furniture you will ever see. Spencer House is a short distance from St James's Palace, Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Westminster, and has magnificent views of Green Park.
