Shakespeares Globe Theatre
Shakespeares Globe Theater is a reconstruction of the original Globe that was built in 1599, on almost the exact site as the original. The reconstruction inspired by the late Sam Wanamaker who didn't live to see the work finished, is complete with thatched roof and a circular theater designed to use natural light and a minimum of scenery. Productions are held on a regular basis by the company, and there is a permanent exhibition showing what life would have been like in Shakespeare's time.
