Royal Opera House

Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House is home to the Royal Opera, Royal Ballet and the Chorus and Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The original building was built in 1858 and has recently been restored and renovated, it reopened in December 1999 after a £200m refurbishment, allowing higher quality programmes to be presented to wider audiences. The best tickets cost over £100, recently though some performances have been relayed on giant screens to huge, non-paying audiences in the Piazza.
