Ozu
County Hall, Riverside Building
Westminster Bridge Road
London
SE1 7PB
Clearly the French owner behind Ozu is a cineaste of exquisite taste. To name his smart, traditional Japanese restaurant after the classic Japanese director, Yasujiru Ozu (if you haven't seen his silent version of Floating Weeds, you haven't lived), and then to use the big flat ceiling as a screen for classic movie projection shows a level of devotion we admire. The decor recalls the stylish era of the 1940s and 1950s and the ambience is most relaxed. You can see what the chefs are up to through the glass while you enjoy the French-Japanese dishes that make up the delicious menu.
