Number 10
10 Golbourne Road
London
W10 5PE
Is it a music venue? A member's club? Or a restaurant? All three in fact, and more besides. A former three-storey Prince Arthur pub, Number 10 sits in the shadow of West London's concrete landmark, the Trellick Tower. Inside is welcome haven of original design hinting at 1950s skis chalets, Dada mags, Regency wallpaper... The upstairs restaurant is all muted colours, with a beautiful jewelled bar, and matching drapes. Head chef is Julien Maisonneuve who's worked, among other places, at Isola and Mash. Of his classic European dishes, his signature is seared scallops with lemon chicory, enjoyed at dinner to the sound of resident solo musicians. A roaring fire cosies things up during winter. Number 10 opens for breakfast, closes at 12am on the ground and restaurant floors, and 1am in the members bar. A place like no other; check it out.
