Monkey Chews
2 Queens Crescent
London
NW5 4EP
Snuggled up on a North London residential lap is Monkey Chews - a kinda special fancy-free restaurant and bar held dear by those who love nothing more than really, really relaxing on a night out. From the womb-like décor to the posterior-loving chairs, everything about Monkey Chews is homely. Hand in hand with this all-out comfort comes the familiar British food, served in the restaurant tucked away at the back of the bar. The menu reads likes your belly's best buddy list: spit-roast chicken with garlic and vegetable mash, steamed mussels in a garlic, cream and white wine sauce, a dozen native rock oysters served with lemon, tabasco sauce (washed down with a pint of the black stuff?). Word of advice: make sure you and your guest(s) don't have other plans for the evening. Unless, of course, they involve chilling out right here, right now, and for a wee while longer...
