Enjoying a Soho corner setting and looking equally as inviting as Café Boheme opposite, Maison Touaregue is a Moroccan and Lebanese restaurant. Its owners aim to transport you to the southern Sahara where the Taureg people originate. Put another way, they're inviting you to try North African dishes
such as cous-cous (the house specialty) and charcoal grills from a menu created and prepared by a Lebanese and a Moroccan chef. But the journey doesn't stop there. The carefully thought-out décor of solid dark wood furniture, traditional artifacts, candles and cushions certainly feels more
Sahara than Soho. And that's the point. Downstairs hides an even cosier basement bar dominated by two long upholstered cushion-lined banquettes. A ballet dancer entertains the mix of regulars and tourists every Friday and Saturday night. If you find yourself getting too comfortable, chill. Maison Touaregue is open until 3am.
