London Canal Museum
The London Canal Museum is housed in a former ice warehouse built in about 1862-3 for Carlo Gatti, the famous ice cream maker, it shows off London's canal system. An exhibition in the museum on Carlo's life shows how he came from Italy to import ice from Norway, and relied on the canal system in order to make his fortune. Also at the museum you can see inside a narrowboat cabin, learn about the history of London's canals, the cargoes carried, and the people who lived and worked on the waterways.
