Kensington Palace
Kensington Palace has been home to some of Britain's most famous kings and queens and members of the Royal Family. Whilst parts of the palace remain a private residence for members of the Royal Family, the finely decorated 18th century State Apartments and Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection are open to the public. When Diana, Princess of Wales died following a car accident in Paris 1997, thousands of people paid tribute to her by laying flowers outside the gates of Kensington Palace.
