Jewel
5 - 6 Glass House Street
London

Jewel is a dazzler. This chic, luxurious, wowlicious bar in the West End is a shining beacon for celebrities and other beautiful people. This is the perfect place for an unforgettable evening, a fabulous celebration, or an up-to-the-minute pr event. The four uniquely-themed bars make choosing a perch deliciously tricky. The main bar, Jewel, is a gorgeous riot of purples lit up by chandeliers and uplights shining through jillions of jewels. Velvet is the more private area at the back where Posh and Becks have been spotted. Bar Blanca, with a second private entrance, is a Moorish fantasia in shades of white and silver with antique doors and sparkling shattered mirrors (seats up to 200 for private hire). Up the oaken stairway you'll find Rouge Noir, a haven of Eastern calm peopled with antique Buddhas, gently lit and decorated in shades of black, red, and gold leaf. It can be hired privately and accommodate up to 80 seated. With views over Piccadilly, the Zambezi bar, also with a private entrance, is the setting for big game hunting. There are animal skins, African warrior spears, and masks everywhere, and it too can be hired privately, with two areas seating up to 60 or 80. The DJs play music that lifts you up. The eclectic British/world menu offers dishes like chicken satay with peanut dip or great hot sandwiches like grilled sirloin with rocket, cherry tomatoes, and horseradish sauce. The mixologists are towering giants in their field.
