Modelled after the famous Jaan restaurants in Singapore and Beverly Hills, Jaan in London is a contemporary, minimalist space with an adventurous French/Cambodian menu. Top-flight young chef Paul Peters has mastered both the classic techniques of French cuisine and the unique spicing of Southeast Asia. The combination is something to behold. Try dishes like Lobster fricassee, or clams, baby squid and chicken ma-hao leaf with watercress beurre blanc, or a more western classic like grilled Scottish rib eye of beef with long beans set off by ratte potatoes flavoured with lemongrass. Much care has been taken with every detail of this destination eatery, from the Cambodian silk upholstery to the select antique Asian artworks. Lovely wines and lovely service, too. The outdoor area is gorgeous in the spring or summer, the waterfall & tropical plants transport you to far further a field that the Embankment!
