Harrods

Harrods

London's most famous department store, Harrods can trace its origin back to 1849 when Henry Charles Harrod opened a small grocery shop. By concentrating on quality and good service the store was soon popular enough to expand. Today it stocks everything from fashion to pets, and toys to sporting goods. Harrods magnificent 17-department food halls are a particular highlight, partly for the range of food on display, but also for W J Neatley's tiled ceilings above the fish, meat and poultry halls.
