/ Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace In 1514 Hampton Court Palace was just a small manor house, then Cardinal Wolsey took it over and transformed it into a magnificent home. In 1528 he gave it to Henry the VIII who extended it and made it what it is today. The Palace has a great blend of Tudor and Baroque architecture and contains many fine collections including tapestries and painting. The Gardens are magnificent as well, including rare and exotic plants, a sunken garden, a maze and the oldest tennis courts in Britain.
