Glamis Castle A place of legends and fairytales Glamis Castle has been the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372. The castle is also a royal residence and the Childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and birthplace of Princess Margaret who was born in 1930. Glamis is known as one of the most haunted castles in Britain, with the main keep of the castle dating back to the 14th century. Shakespeare's famous play 'Macbeth' is said to have been set at Glamis Castle too.
