At last, traditional Bangaladeshi home cooking has found a home in the capital, and what a home! The bright, airy dining room is graced with gleaming wood floors, dark turquoise walls and upholstery, and plate-glass windows out onto the passing Notting Hill scene. The overall ambience is hip and modern and very comfortable, too. Chef Albert Gomes has been lured to the Ginger kitchen from a five-star hotel in Dhaka. Try starter of King prawns cooked in the tandoori and finished with ginger (appropriately), main course of Kashi bhuna, a classic Bangladeshi dish of very hotly spiced boneless goat curry, or play it safe with a truly terrific Chicken tikka masala. The wines have been carefully chosen with the Bengali flavours in mind. A great addition to London's Indian scene.
