Gate Restaurant
87 Notting Hill Gate
London
W11 3JZ
Go through the wooden door next to the Gate cinema, down the narrow stairs and you'll find yourself in a very happening set of rooms where le tout Notting Hill finds itself eventually. The decor is minimalist and chic, and the wood laminate recalls modernist leanings of the newly retro seventies. The bar and dining rooms are lively, fun and easy, with a relaxed, clubby atmosphere. You'll find W11 media, fashion and industry folk gathered here, drinking some mighty fine cocktails and tucking into truly global grub. With influences faring from all over the world, be tempted to nibble on Leek, Tomato and Thyme Tart with Rocket and Parmesan. For a main try the Baked Honey Ginger Soy Red Snapper with Bok-Choi and Asian greens. To top it off, satisfy the sweet tooth with Sticky Toffee Pudding with Caramel Sauce and Vanilla Ice-cream. Then enjoy the music.
