Dicken's House Museum
48 Doughty Street was the home of Charles Dickens for a number of years, and was where he created characters such as Oliver Twist, The Artful Dodger and Nicholas Nickleby. The Dickens House Museum was opened to the public in 1925, and houses the world's largest collection of Dickens related material. Exhibits include letters, papers, manuscripts, portraits, personal items and pieces of furniture taken from his other London homes as well as first editions of many of his best known works.
