Covent Garden
The history of Covent Garden is reputed to date back to medieval times, when the Benedictine Convent of St Peter at Westminster Abbey owned a garden, the "Convent Garden". From these humble beginnings it has developed into a major shopping area with everything on offer from fashionable boutiques and famous shops to market stalls. Covent Garden also has excellent street entertainment, including cafes where you can lunch to the sound of live classical music.
