Bullochs at 116 is a delightful blend of light, modern design and romantic sophistication. The international menu created by chef David Marshall is superb, and dishes are presented immaculately. Discretion is the word here, where visiting celebrities enjoy a warm welcome as well as a sense of privacy in the intimate atmosphere, as do Mayfair residents and local business folk. What's cooking? Favourite main courses include Steamed halibut with warm Nicoise salad, or pan fried fillet of Aberdeen Angus beef with seared foie gras, creamed parsnips and Madeira sauce, or butternut squash and chilli risotto with pecorino. There's a more tempting pudding list than good sense requires, and the wines are excellent.
