Brasserie at The Cumberland
Marble Arch
Great Cumberland Street
London
W1H 7AL
What a difference two years, talented designers and generous investment can make. The Cumberland above Marble Arch station is officially a world-class hotel with 900 designer bedrooms, and dining spaces to match. Brasserie, the main restaurant is an impressive, high-ceilinged space split into two eating areas either side of a bar. Everything looks cool, especially the cream space-agey bar stools and wide leather sofas. Back at the mezzanine, the most popular section, top notch modern British food is whizzing off perfectly-laid tables. Favourites to date include plum tomatoes with melting and mozzarella to start, then corn fed chicken matched with a tasty onion mash, followed by sweet blueberry tart with lashings of Devonshire clotted cream. A genuinely exciting venture.
