Althorp

The Spencer home for the past 500 years, Althorp is one of the greatest country homes in England. The house has a fine interior with wonderful pictures by Rubens, Van Dyck, Reynolds and Gainsborough. In the stables you will find an exhibition celebrating the life of Diana Princess of Wales. Outside althorp house, in the extensive gardens you will find the Round Oval, an ornamental lake. It was on the island at the centre of this lake, that Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest.
